My name is Jasper, I am approximately 3 years old and full of excitement for everything in life. Despite a very tragic beginning and now just learning how to be a dog, I am in very good health and an amazing guy--smart, sensitive and enthusiastic. After just a few months, I am well on my way to being a real Rottie gentleman who, as an overachiever, will do anything for loves, praise or a tasty treat.

I am fully housetrained, crate trained (which I don't need or use) yet I am an angel when left alone. I have mastered advanced commands which I have learned in my advanced obedience class. I have also learned to wait for my food, take treats gently and walk very well on a leash too, but I am great off lead as well.  I am crazy about chasing a ball or toy in the backyard which is great since the fact I am young, eating well, and feeling great, I have lots of energy. Like to hike or go for walks? Me too! Need a jogging partner? I’m your guy! Ironically, I am very low key and well behaved when indoors or a house setting.

When tested with kids of all ages, I did great. I do well with cats and other dogs, but I am still working on containing my exuberance, especially when meeting dogs and people. I am also great with horses and livestock. I do love to chase and explore, so a mindful verbal reminder when it's not appropriate is all that it takes.

Since I am friendly, smart, and as perceptive as they come, not to mention very inexperienced in the ways of the world, what I want more than anything is an active person or family who is also willing to be a strong, positive leader for me.
